Wonky Byrd

Art from a ~Journal Jam~ Class with, Effy Wild. The ~Wonky Byrd~ is from, Willowing Arts on YouTube. At ~Journal Jam~ I have been experiencing many of these whimsical ladies. Each lady I sketch and then paint are lovely with their own personality. Their face colors are different, the eyes vary – some are as almonds and others large, dominating the entire face. Hair styles are unique and tiny lips are always very colorful. The ladies are slowly becoming a family of sorts – sisters, cousins, aunts, great aunts and grandmothers. They are taking on a life and place of their own and I enjoy creating them.

Living in Upstate, New York, I would consider myself a mixed media artist and writer of stories, and poetry. I enjoy painting & sketching, altered books, collage on canvas, making dolls, and reading. I am the proud mother to six lovely children.

  1. Love both the portrait and the quirky bird! I have done a few portraits in Effy classes and still struggle with that but always happy with the result. Faces are just so expressive.
